Shoayb Patel founded RDvault in Manchester in 2017 — a chartered accountant and engineer who had watched too many innovative companies either hand a third of their R&D claim to advisers, or file claims that could not survive scrutiny. With 15+ years in R&D tax, he built RDvault to do it a better way: compliant, evidence-first and technology-led.
Today we are a dedicated team of chartered accountants, tax specialists and software engineers who do one thing, and do it thoroughly. Every claim is reviewed against the statutory tests before it is filed, and stands up to scrutiny afterwards — the reason our UK practice holds a 100% audit success record across more than £50M in claims.
When the UAE introduced its own R&D Tax Credit, the decision was straightforward — bring a proven playbook to a market that had never had one. We are not learning this regime. We are importing a proven method into it.
As at July 2026, the Council’s pre-approval portal has not yet opened. The businesses that will claim first are the ones preparing their documentation now.

A new incentive — and a narrow window.
The UAE’s R&D Tax Credit is the newest major innovation incentive in the region. Cabinet Decision No. 215 of 2025 establishes a credit of 15–50% on qualifying R&D expenditure, and most businesses do not yet know it exists, let alone how to claim it.
There is a catch that decides everything: every project must be pre-approved by the Emirates R&D Council before a credit can be claimed, and there is no retrospective mechanism. Being early is not an advantage — it is the requirement.
That is exactly where a proven method matters most. We have prepared claims like these more than a thousand times. In a market this new, that experience is the difference between claiming and missing out.
